Deryn and Sophie, while Alek and Franz are the study:
"NOOOO!" Deryn screamed, ducking under arms and kicking shines as she ran from Sophie's unrealistically big closet. She was down the hall before they could even reach the bedroom door.
"DERYN, GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!" Sophie shrieked. Deryn stopped in the middle of her escape, spun around and shrieked back.
"WHAT'S THE BLOODY POINT OF A BARKING DRESS?!" when she was picked up from behind by Otto Klopp, and carried back to her torcher.
"Thank you, Master Klopp." Sophie breathed. He nodded his response and walked away smiling.
"Stupid dresses, oppressing women, barking corsets,
At the height of the party! WOOT!:
He has to find her, he has to find her! But his mother had invited so many people, the whole family and every officer and noble. Even English nobles, but Alek suspected that was to make Deryn feel more comfortable at her first party. There she is!
Alek spotted her from across the room. She looked beautiful. He couldn't help but stare. People would come up to him with friendly smiles and warm handshakes but he didn't pay them any mind. All he saw was Deryn.
Anyone? No, not anyone, just her.
In the study (for like the third time):
"Father, what are you saying?" Alek asked.
"You are to inherit my title, land, and money. Son, I'm saying you're next in line to inherit Austria-Hungary." Alek's father had just given him the best gift anyone could receive for their 16th birthday.
"You are saying that all this time you've had a secret scroll in a secret castle in Switzerland?"
"Yes "
"And that people have treated mother and me badly and insulted us all this time not knowing about this and you just let them?"
"Yes." His father said. While explaining the letter from the pope and disapproval from almost everyone else
That afternoon:
"No, what are you doing?" Sophie called to the kitchen as the cooks came out with some food that was apparently wrong.
"Mother, you really don't need to go through all this trouble." Alek looked around the ballroom to see the decorations his mother had ordered the servants to set up. Everyone was busy and bustling around all day, cooking, cleaning, and prepping for Alek's
birthday party that night.
"Of course I do! It's my son's 16th birthday!" She pulled him into a tight hug. "Oh, my sweet little boy."
"Mother " Alek whined, even though, deep down, he loved it when his mother fussed over him.
"Aleksander, be
That morning:
Alek woke up, but didn't get up. He just lay there trying to get use to his body again. Eventually, he slowly opened one eye at a time, only to close them quickly at the bright light in the room. Groaning, he tried again. He opened his eyes briefly to try to get use to the light coming in through the windows. Wait, who opened the curtain?
"Deryn?" he moaned uneasily, "Are you up?" Even though she put on a pleasant façade after her father's death, he knew she was still torturing herself on the inside, so he still slipped into her room every night, but he was being more careful not to get caught.
"Aye," she hummed. She

3. Engagement
Dr. Deryn Sharp woke up, glided out of bed and slid into her slippers. She stood, yawning, and strolled to the window, opening the curtains. She saw it was a bright sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, very uncharacteristic for London, but the perfect day for her second graduation.
Deryn pulled on her robe, opened her bedroom door, and trotted downstairs. She went to the kitchen, turned on the stove and while it was heating up, went to her front door to gather the mail off the floor.
As she walked back to the kitchen, Deryn shuffled through the ma

Ok so I got the school from a google search but when I checked out the website it seems really cool, so here's a link to the King's College London. http://www.kcl.ac.uk/index.aspx. It's been there since like 1107!! (Not the website the school) How cool is that?! I'd like to go there; I think old schools are cool. Ok, so here's the second chapter.
2. Reunion
"D-Deryn?" Jackson, Deryn's friend and research partner, caught up with her after running the down the hall after class.
Deryn had already gotten her doctorate in anthropology from King's College London, but decided to go back to get her doctorate in another subject, archeolog
By the end of that month:
"OW DERYN!"
"WELL IT'S NOT MY BLOODY FAULT! YOU'RE A BAD TEACHER!" Alek sighed.
Deryn was back to her lessons, but way behind on her etiquette. Whenever her teacher came, Deryn was nowhere to be found. Even trying to get her into a dress was a long struggle involving thrashing, twisting, clawing, biting and screeeeeeaaaaming.
Since Deryn was talking again, Alek asked why.
"Have you ever worn a corset?" she asked him in return.
"No." Deryn dragged him into her room, took off his shirt (no, don't go there) and pulled out one of her corsets. When she found one, she pulled it around Alek's torso and told him
